During his 30 year career, Mr. Phalon has focused exclusively on
the valuation of businesses, partnership interests, intangible assets, and other financial interests. His valuations have
provided the basis for acquisitions and divestitures, gift and estate planning, business succession planning, goodwill impairment,
fairness opinions, purchase price allocation, employee stock ownership plans, general corporate planning, and litigation support.
Mr.
Phalon's experience has provided in-depth knowledge of a wide range of industries. Throughout his career, Mr. Phalon has demonstrated
the ability to quickly and effectively evaluate complex issues, to focus discussions on key factors, and to communicate his
analyses in a manner that often reduces confusion for clients and other professionals.
Mr.
Phalon has testified in tax courts and federal district courts. His successful track record contributed to the Department
of Justice engaging him to testify in high-profile, non-tax cases. Mr. Phalon has also acted as a mediator when valuation
matters were the primary issue. His diplomatic approach often brings clarity for all parties involved.
Mr.
Phalon's experience includes Managing Director, Bernstein, Phalon & Conklin in Dallas, Texas (1995-2001), Director of
Valuation Services, Arthur Andersen & Co., Dallas, Texas, Washington, D.C., and Miami, Florida (1987-1995), and American
Appraisal Associates (1981-1987).
